OFFICERS
President: KENJI CHONG

Kenji Chong: "Hello everyone! My name is Kenji Chong (if can’t already tell by the ginormous title above this bio haha) and I am the 2015-2016 President of Service for Humanity. I was born and raised in Oakland, California and then I had later moved to Sugar Land, Texas. Over the years I have been blessed to be surrounded by a community of people that have been accepting of who I am and have helped me through my hardships. Thus, I wish that everyone of you, my fellow club members, will enjoy the time spent helping others and begin to develop a sense of compassion within the entire community and everyone you touch for the rest of your life. This coming year our members will be driven by internal motives; by their hearts drawing them to a call to action- a call to aid others when they are in need, rather than for putting it on their college resume. To support those who are fallen and can’t get back up. To speak for those who don’t have a voice. To lift humanity through our service."
Committee Chair: JOULES CAALIM

Joules Caalim: "Hey! My name's Joules, I am the current committee chair, and I was born in Houston and raised in Sugar Land. Even as of right now, I am an awkward turtle, even if at times I don't seem so. But according to some of my friends, I can be referred to as kind and friendly. And weird, don't forget really weird. I'm a bit of an introvert, and although I like being alone a lot of the time, I still enjoy being able to hang out with my friends. Anyways, SFH was the first club I joined freshman year, and it helped me break out of my shell, but more importantly, it has allowed me to help people. This club, like many of our other members say, is like a family to us. To continue, my job as committee chair is to watch over the president and make sure he does his job. Lastly, more about me, I have a deep interest in video games, as well as playing the guitar and the violin. Well, I hope we have another wonderful year and I'll do my best to do my job!"
Vice Presidents: SHUMENG ZHAO & ANNING YOU

Shumeng Zhao: "Hello! My name is Shumeng Zhao and I am one of the vice presidents of SFH! This is my third year in SFH. In the past two years I have been both a member and an officer. My experience on both sides of the organization has made me love and appreciate this club even more. To be able to work and connect with a multitude of people and later be able to organize these connections have been an incredibly rewarding experience! This year, I hope to continue to spread the philanthropic message amongst high school students and make this club enjoyable for you!"
Anning You: "Hello there! My name is Anning You, and I’m one of the 2015-2016 Vice-Presidents of Service for Humanity. When I was a freshman, I joined SFH thinking that the only thing the club was good for was getting more YES hours. Thank goodness I was wrong! In the past 2 years, I have made more friends than I ever imagined making in high school because of SFH. This simple club has become my family. It has become a group of people whom I love and care for so deeply. It’s a family that makes me feel safe and happy. Now, a little bit of background. I was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Sugarland when I was about 3. I am a very cheerful and optimistic individual who loves to sing and dance and jump around. This upcoming year, I’m going to put my best foot forward and work hard to make SFH the most fun, productive, and loving club at school!"
Secretaries: SABOOR QUDSI & CHRISTINA HO

Saboor Qudsi: "Hey you! My name is Saboor Qudsi. I was born June 22, 1999 in the bustling city of Karachi, Pakistan. I moved to the United States when I was 5 and let’s just say it was an uphill struggle. Learning a new language, getting used to a new place and making new friends. But over time, my puzzle pieces fell in the right place. During my freshman year at Austin, I noticed this club all my friends were going to. It wasn’t Student Council, or Red Cross, it was SFH. After going to the first meeting I realized how new this organization was and that I wanted to be a part of it. I want to embody Service for Humanity. As time went on, this club became stronger and stronger. And then I realized, it doesn’t end here. It continues with you new freshman. Who keep the fire and spirit alive beyond us, and the pioneers before us. Join this club! It’s a new experience that will continue throughout your High School. I’ll give it my 110%, and if you do too, who knows what you’ll end up accomplishing."
Christina Ho: "Hello! My name is Christina Ho, one of your Service for Humanity secretaries for 2015-2016 and I am a sophomore. I was born in California and moved to Texas when I was six. I'm a very awkward and shy when it comes to talking in front of a lot of people, but once I'm comfortable, I promise I'm the total opposite! I'm not great at sports or a specific instrument, so I don't have a pin-point hobby, but I love exploring/finding new places or just being around good company in general. I'm often an adventurous person and being in SFH made me become more outgoing to people I would've never seen myself hanging around. Being in SFH helped me gain more friends and it is most definitely one of the reasons why I've become less of an introvert. This year I hope to help the members be more interactive with each other and form close bonds like I did last year. As secretary, I look forward to new experiences with the club and new adventures!"
Internal Relations Officer: SEAN CRUZ

Sean Cruz: "Aye bruh! My name is Sean! I was born here in Houston and I am a junior. I have been in Service for Humanity since my freshman year back in 2013. Service for Humanity was my first real club I joined other than Yu-gi-oh club in middle school. I may not look like it, but I'm pretty shy on the inside. I also really don't know how to write a bio. One of the big things about me is that I love music. My first instrument I played was the piano since I was 4 then I moved through the violin and cello until 8th grade. I still play the cello until now with some knowledge with my prior instruments. People in Service for Humanity were the first ones to open up to me and it made me feel comfortable. They got me involved in things and offered a lot of opportunities for me to meet and spend time with new people and thats where I made a lot new friends that stuck with me until now. So if you see me in the halls, stop by and say Hi! I look forward to meeting you all and creating another year of memories! "
External Affairs Officer: JEANETTE WANG

Jeanette Wang: "Hi! My name is Jeanette Wang and I'm the 2015-2016 External Relations Chair for Service for Humanity. As this year's ERC, I will take care of anything that has to do with contacting organizations or people outside of the school. I was born in Houston and I moved to Sugar Land when I was four years old. I enjoy drawing, listening to music, and spending time with my family. This year, I'll be an incoming sophomore here at Austin. As a freshman, I joined many clubs to try to make more friends and find my place in high school. SFH not only helped me accomplish that goal, but it also made me a part of an organization that changes the lives of people around us for the better. Throughout the year, although at first I didn't know anyone in the club, I found that they eventually became like a second family to me. Attending the socials and volunteering events brought us closer as a club and as friends, and I'm very grateful to SFH for giving me a chance to meet these amazing people."
Parliamentarian: MAGGIE YIP

Maggie Yip: "Hello! My name is Maggie, and I am your 2015-2016 parliamentarian for Service For Humanity. I am currently a junior at Austin High school. I enjoy many activities such as singing, playing guitar, and swimming, and love to interact with and meet new people all the time. I joined SFH as a sophomore just for the sake of being in a club, but as the year progressed, I realized SFH is more than just a club; SFH is a family. Being in SFH has brought me so many new friends, and so many wonderful memories that I will forever hold dear to my heart. I hope you get to enjoy and love this organization as much as I do. Welcome to the family!"
Treasurer: VICTOR LI

Victor Li: "Hi! My name is Victor and I am the current treasurer for SFH. I was born and raised in Sugar Land and I've never known any other place as home. Service for Humanity has provided me with the opportunity to grow and develop as a person, not only as an individual, but as a member of a greater collective. Coming into high school, I was obviously a little nervous and a little unsure, but this club has always been like a home to me, a place where I can really feel safe. That’s why I want to make sure this club be the best it can be! I want to help as many people as I can in the most impactful way. Even though I’m your average procrastinator, and can be a little lazy sometimes, I will do my best to support everyone in our club, in our family. If you could help me do that, I would really appreciate it. I’m a little shy and I’m a little weird, but I hope you can accept me. Thanks!"
Media Chair: JOSHUA ABELLA

Joshua Abella: “Hello! My name is Joshua Abella and I am the SFH Media Chair. I am in charge of the Service for Humanity Website and all of SFH’s social media (So if you want a follow back, just ask. :D ). I am a junior at AHS and this is my second year in SFH. After transferring over to Austin my sophomore year, I immediately felt lost and lonely. I was tossed into a new place with basically no friends. After joining Service for Humanity, I was able to establish a group that I could call "family" and truly feel welcomed to high school. Alongside the many friends I made, SFH as a volunteering club really opened my eyes to my community and its culture. I participated in things I never thought I would, like culture festivals and volunteer opportunities. I hope to share many more experiences like these with you in SFH.”
Historian: POHYEE TAN

Pohyee Tan: "Hello loves! My name is Poh Yee Tan and I was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I moved here when I was 3. I am the historian for this year. I was previously one of the secretaries for Service for Humanity last year. I decided to run for officer again for this school year due to the passion I developed for volunteering. I have volunteered over 120 hours and will continue to do so. Besides volunteering, I have a passion for photography. It has become a part of me and also a side job. It has given me a lot of joy which is why I wanted to incorporate this part of me into this organization because I want to be able to capture the joy of others. In addition, I like to travel to different places and permanently capture the parts that I would like to keep with me. To be able to become part of the group that works behind the scene again is a great honor to me. Service For Humanity was a club that opened up a whole new world for me. It led me to meet people from different walks of life. To be able to come together and grow along side with such an amazing group of people made me stay. I want to continue this legacy and hope to influence other students as it has influenced me. Let’s continue another great year filled with heartwarming memories. "
